Every company wants a Business Partner like Bharat & Laxman, but where is the sacrifice & trust of Ram.

Every company wants everlasting progress & prosperity but where is the journey to warrant it.

No one wants the fate of Lanka but how many can recognize & overcome the Ravan within..

RAMAYAN & BUSINESS

Ramayan is rich in ways & means one can only imagine.

I’m one humble devotee of Prabhu Ram, amongst the millions all around the world.

I recommend that we read the Ramayan to appreciate the multiple lessons it has to offer. These lessons have become all the more important in today’s evolving & complex times.

Well, even if you’ve not read the Ramayan you will be able to relate to the points I present below.

I’m going to discuss a few management & life lessons that I’ve tried to derive from this great part of the so rich history of Great Bharath.

We all can imbibe a little bit of these concepts in our daily lives.

As they say, that management concepts are best understood with models. So here’s one!

I adore Punjabis’. Their spirit & approach to life is just so amazing. My wife is a Punjabi (50%). More so when you live in the NCR region you get your fair share of the Punjabi Radiation regularly!

In this portion of the book I’m going to elaborate on 2 simple phrases from the Punjabi dialect.

These phrases can, on a stand-alone basis, bring about peace & harmony within countries, within societies, within corporates, within families, within friends & any other warring group.

Business cross-roads: Every Entrepreneur has to take a call someday!

Sooner or later as an entrepreneur you will find yourself in this dilemma during your entrepreneurial journey. You will have to choose between growth & survival strategies.

You start a business anticipating growth but you must remember that those who are ‘dead’ won’t grow.

The decisions you take at a given moment will define how long you last in the game. A wrong decision certainly spells doom.

On the basis of my personal journey, I’m sharing some points for analysis & learning.

Over the last many years that I’ve been an entrepreneur, I’ve had to close multiple product lines. According to me, most of these concepts were unique & we took them to the consumer with great excitement & effort.

SURVIVE OR GROW - AN ENTREPRENEUR'S DILEMMA.

They did get me some name but over a period of time these products/services failed to give me the bottom-line.

In the interest of “survival” I had to shut them down.

None of our product or service could become a business disrupter; atleast till date. Just burning cash in the name of disruption never excited me.

Laying low, creating a niche & choosing to “survive” have been more important for me.

I think of business & entrepreneurship as a Cricket Test Match.

Its important to be on the pitch. It makes little sense to give away your wicket chasing the wrong ball.

Singles are vital & boundaries will eventually come.

GREAT BHARATH- THE BUILD UP

All you need is to take that one brave step & make a start.

My country was the Greatest…My ancestors were scientists, artists, philosophers, doctors, astronomers, traders, warriors, educators.

My lands were a cradle to prosperity & growth for this entire civilization. My people co-existed with nature in harmony for thousands of years. My cities were global examples of architecture, drainage, waterways, cleanliness, fashion, well behaved citizens, healthcare, human rights, education, political knowledge etc.

GREAT BHARATH- THE BUILD UP

We were thought leaders & innovators.

That, ladies & gentlemen, was my Bharath!

Our Great Bharath.

In a small patch of our existence a number of not-so-good things happened & a lot was snatched away from us. I don’t so much mourn the wealth that was plundered, but I do regret the wisdom & the self-pride that was taken away from us.

Time to get it back!
